Dr.-Ing. Justin Pradipta, S.T., M.T.
Justin Pradipta is an expert in control engineering, smart building systems, and energy management. He has developed a wide range of innovative projects spanning industrial IoT, battery technology, and data analytics. Some of his notable works are:
- Advanced Air Conditioning System: a research and development project focused on simulation and control design for next-generation air conditioning systems. Using a model-based design approach, accurate mathematical models of AC systems were developed as the basis for more efficient control algorithms. This project became the technical foundation for subsequent advanced HVAC projects at Bosch, and later culminated in an international patent for Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) energy demand prediction methods, registered in Europe and Germany (2017).
- ELISA (Sistem Informasi Energi dan Air): an IoT-based platform for monitoring and managing energy and water consumption in buildings. SiEliSa provides real-time data analytics and has been further enhanced with Generative AI integration to support smarter, data-driven energy management decisions.
- Battery Management System (BMS) for Lithium-Ion Batteries: a battery management system developed in collaboration with Pertamina for lithium-ion battery applications. The project expanded into large-scale energy storage, including a 1 MWh battery system, as well as second-life battery initiatives, contributing to Indonesia’s energy storage and electrification goals.
- Flight Simulation Motion Platform: a pneumatic actuator-based motion platform for flight simulation, which formed the basis of his doctoral dissertation. The project earned a Best Paper Award at ICARA 2015 and resulted in multiple international journal publications.
